Coach Ferris from Detroit Michigan. There’s a lot that goes on in a big city. He experienced a lot growing up in Detroit including thriving for what to believe in. He played football most of his childhood and also most of his teens. A star athlete was not what he was known for. He also trained in boxing periodically and a little portion of baseball. Ferris was more of a mentor. He joined this high school mentorship program called Project Manhood. It was a group of students from 9th to 12th grade who were guided and taught how to be men. In his 10th-grade year, he became the treasurer and at the time Ferris knew he had a skill in not just mentoring kids but also being a mentor in general.
Ferris joined the Navy right after short-lived high school. Shortly after discharge, he pursued education in wind energy and renewable resources. After receiving a diploma in wind energy he started traveling all around the US and very soon he became a new father. This was a new challenge and it was not the best moments of his life. He quickly went down a road that he would not be proud of but accepted it as a phase of character building and that’s when he started to make a change. This phase was roughly a 10-year process. He started getting back to making a relationship with God a priority, and then health came next. He started observing people in the gym and doing research online. Friends, family, and like-minded people started noticing the change and at that moment this was the new lifestyle for Ferris. He lost over 60 lbs of body weight while also building muscle. This was the turning point of his life. He then was asked for guidance from others. At that time he only knew how to help himself when it came to fitness. He had no idea how to train and educate people to get them in the right direction. He decided during this timeframe to study for it. During this time he was in the process of divorce, custody of daughter, back surgery, and a career change. Needless to say, everything turned out as it should. He became a NASM CPT, single father, back in the gym, NASM virtual specialist, NASM nutrition coach, and most recently NASM physique bodybuilding coach.
Ferris quickly started training the general population. In his home gym, he became someone that everybody was able to feel comfortable talking to about fitness, proper form, and nutrition. When it comes to Ferris’s mentor skills he can help people find what motivated them. He helps people understand why taking care of physical is only a result of taking care of your mental which is also a result of taking care of spirit. As a child, he was always interested in the bodybuilding platform. After receiving his physique bodybuilding certificate he started making connections with many different coaches all over the US.
You will find that Ferris has a very welcoming and calm persona. He is easy to talk to and once you invest your time and efforts in him he will treat you like family. You will be someone of importance to him. He will give you homework and help you build your blueprint towards success.
